Grace in Small Things #1
1) The honey orange latte at Starbucks. Sounds disgusting, tastes divine.
2) Knocking something off the shelf in the pantry and creating a cascade of falling food Nathan looks at me and gives me a sigh and says “aw….shit.” And I cant help but laugh, even though its not funny.
3) The fact that the General’s husband calls me ‘kiddo’ every time he sees me makes me smile. It makes me feel like I’m 16 again.
4) Spreading a blanket out in the front yard and laying down with my 3 year old, feeling the grass in my toes, the breeze on my skin and the sun on my face.
5) The hyacinth plant I bought yesterday. In purple. Same as was in our wedding. Not only does it make me think of our wedding day but the entire house smells wonderful.

Ethan was putting Legos together the other day and was looking around him. I asked what he was doing and he nonchalantly told me that he was “looking for the f#@*ing red one.” I’d like to say he picked that up at school but that would be denial. Yeah, parents of the year we are.
