Taking A Step Back
Currently Im eating cake. I feel its warranted based on the splendid trip I had to the 100Y store this morning. Right now its obvious Im trying to do too many things at once. I still haven’t figured out this balancing act (wasn’t that my new years resolution word….balance?) and currently Im spending too much time trying to fit square pegs in round holes. Nathan is really honing his not listening skills and Mackenzie is insisting on continuing down her non-napping path which makes her a miserable crank for most of the day and day after day of FUSSING CHILD really starts to wear on a girl. I think if I don’t slow down a bit- this isn’t going to end well. So, Im taking a break for a few days. What I really need is a few days off, a long weekend of someone taking the kids and getting to go somewhere. Nathan is almost 4 and I’ve never ever spent one night away from him. I’ve never been away from my kids for more than 6 hours. In addition to being a stay at home parent, I’ve also been a single parent (all totaled) for more than a year….that means I’ve done 25% of the parenting entirely on my own and man, Im just worn out. Since we all know there is no family member that is going to come to my rescue, Im going to have to settle for just (forcibly ) removing a few items from my plate temporarily. So, I’ll be back in a few days.
PS- July and grandparents cannot come soon enough.

Oh no. I am SO sorry. What a total pain. I really, REALLY TRULY believe that it does take a village to raise kids. And I believe we are NOT MEANT to be doing it by ourselves. It is totally unnatural and wrong. Totally. I hope you can slow down and let the craziness just wash over you without frazzling you!
