Nothing really
I’m feeling sort of restless…..kind of like I wish I could just get outta dodge. Im not sure if its the time of year or just the “3 year military itch” (even though we’ve been here 4) – it just seems like its time to move. Oh hey- I didn’t tell you, we got official correspondence a note taped to our door letting us know they are gutting our house and we have to move after the first of the year. On the one hand- change of scenery=good thing. On the other hand, what a large pain in the ass to have to unpack all our shit into another 1100 square feet of government real estate. Actually, this will be “luxurious” government real estate because its 1100 newly renovated square feet. (insert apathetic “yay”). I bet it won’t even have seafoam tile in the kitchen for you to be jealous of anymore.

Nathan keeps insisting its going to snow here. He assured me “that on Christmas, just you wait mom, there will be snow.” Yeah….but, no really, there won’t. How can you keep the kid from being heartbroken when he thinks Christmas and snow are inextricably intertwined. “How will Santa land if there is no snow?” I don’t know, I guess he’ll have to strap some water skis on the red sled.

We had family pictures taken at the beach today; you should care about this only because it will mean for the first time in forever that my Facebook picture might! change! I know. Hold onto your hats!

Im feeling…unsettled? unsure? about Christmas shopping…..I don’t know what Im getting for anyone. Thankfully, Nathan and I made his gifts for everyone about two months ago so I won’t be cutting and gluing with him last minute trying to come up with something (“oh….a pipe cleaner ornament? You shouldn’t have.”) What do you want for Christmas this year? Oh, for the love of god leave me some comments, tell me Santa what you want. Can’t you see Im bored?
Separate but related: Nathan asked if he ate all his dinner if he could have a dog for Christmas. Negative ghost rider that pattern is full-ll.

So…what did you guys make? I want to make something this year, too, but I’m at a loss for ideas. Kind of having an apathy problem too…eh.
Sad that the little guy won’t get his snow. I’d send some of ours, but I don’t think that would work out.

Don’t jump into the Christmas quagmire until you’re good and inspired! But, maybe I can inspire you…..think how truly freaking AWESOME December will be if you aren’t shopping/wrapping/mailing/stressing!? Just buy some random ass shit and wrap it in red and mail it to people. I’ve decided everyone gets ONE present (I used to bust my ass getting multiple things and making sure it was all GREAT.) Screw that. Just find something decent. One decent thing and mail it. DONE. (see? I’m revealing my dark secrets….)

Oh. And I can’t recommend photo gifts enough for grandparents. Get on shutterfly. Make a photo book. Have it mailed to them. CHRISTMAS IS DONE!
